Overview

Our group engages heavily in designing, synthesizing and characterizing luminescent and photoactive transition metal complex chromophores for diverse applications (photocatalysis, sensing, upconversion, light-emitting electrochemical cells, dye-sensitized solar cells) preferably using Earth-abundant sustainable elements, unusual oxidation states, fundamentals of electron/proton transfer reactions, photosynthesis and bioinorganic/biomimetic chemistry.
Look here why we need to replace critical elements such as iridium by more abundant ones.
